Description
A long body covered with bone plates instead of scale and lines of dots along the sides. No abdominal fins. The nose is flat and pipe like similar to that of sea horses, whom they are related to.

Habitat
The Broad Nosed Pipefish usually pose vertically in seaweed rich areas close to the coast and on depths of 1-20 meters. This offers a perfect camouflage as they sway with the water movement, positioned in the seaweed.
