Description
Burbot is a codfish with a long body that resembles that of a tadpole, small scales are paced deep into the smooth skin. The elongated body tapers to a point near the tail and dorsal and anal fins run from the middle of the body almost to the tail. It has a barbel (a tiny string beard) on the lower jaw. They may fall into a sleep stage during the summer.
Color
A marbling color pattern with colors of black, yellow and green covers its back, the abdominal is white.
Average size
35-80 cm/2-5 kg, the male is usually considerably smaller than the female.
Age
15 years old.
